The remediation of contaminated soil by means of ISTD - heating of soil through heaters run in the ground - has become a major success in Denmark. Especially, as the ISTD technology has resulted in clean-up levels of up to 99% removal within relatively short time.
Krüger has executed several remediation projects around Denmark, among other things in Funen and presently in Reerslev south of Copenhagen.
The ISTD technology comes from the American company TerraTherm and in 2006 Krüger acquired the rights to sell the ISTD technology in Denmark and Sweden.
